This time next week, I hope to be sitting with my nephew Scott in Oakland, Calif., watching the A's play in the 3rd game of the playoff's. Who it will be is uncertain, but should either be the Minneasota Twins or the Detroit Tigers. Think I may have said this in my last blog, but it doesn't hurt to be repeated. I am excited of the prospect.

Quiet day here today, did however go to an Estate sale this afternoon. Saw some things that I thought Donna would want to pick up for Julies antique booth, that she has back in Newton, Kans. Think they are doilies, or some such thing. Didn't see anything I needed, which isn't too unusual, as I don't really need anything more than I now have.

Am waiting for Breanna and Paul to stop and pick me up, and then we are off to the University of Portland women's soccer game. Looks like we are playing the Univ of Washington tonight. Chris and Karl are already there, they took in a mens game earlier, and will stay and watch the gals play. Then Karl is coming to spend the night at our house. He has a soccer game in our end of town tomorrow morning, so I'll take him to the game, and Chris will pick him up, after he finishes getting some sleep. Chris works at Home Depot from 9:00 to 6:30 in the morning.

Am going to post this and sign off and take my computer down. Maybe when it comes back up, I can take a look at my web page. cherrio

So, here is a picture of me actually working at Laura's house, now maybe I can get you a picture
of Donna and me in Ireland, lets try...

Okay, thats the pair of me, have fun feeling sorry for this poor old guy. Will add more another day.
So it is Sunday, the 24th, and I am going again to try and post a picture of me on this blog.
May not have any better luck than I did the other day, but here goes.

Monday, the 18th of September,
Time seems to fly by these days, even though I am not employed by anyone, I am still finding much to do. As I shared with a friend the other day, I have more time to do it in, so what is the hurry to get it done, hence I don't get as much done as I used to.
Today it is raining, finally! Has been dry for so long, that the grass has dried up and turned brown. It reminds me of how the grass is in winter, in the midwest. But, todays rain, will be a start in returning it to its GREEN beauty. Nothing can compare I don't think to the GREEN beauty we saw in Ireland. It is so intense it seems.
I'm wondering if anyone even reads this blog. Or am I just spending money on air time to put on a bunch of worthless words. Do me a favor and send me a e-mail, my address for it is howardonna@aol.com. I enjoy getting messages anyway, and if your reading this and replying then I'll know I'm not wasting time.
We had a very enjoyable time at Lou & Johns Saturday, weather was nice enough that we could have a outside bbq style meal. Had hot dogs, baked beans, salads, chips, drinks, watermellon, and good fellowship. Can't ask for much more than that can you? Then yesterday, I enjoyed a good soccer game at the University of Portland, thanks to my neighbor Laura who supplied the ticket. The U of P won, over Portland State University 4 to zip. The UofP have a very good game, only loss was to Univ of No Carolina couple weeks ago.
Then last night, went to church to hear a man who has memorized the first 22 chapters of Genesis, and is able to quote it in a very dramatic way. Was very good, I suppose I could have taken my bible and followed along, but I've read it enough to know he was right on.
Well, think I will sign off for today, go find some breakfast, and read the newspaper, to see who has been killing who, who the loosers were in yesterdays football game and then will attack my day. Nothing special planned, the rain will determine what I do. Might come back here and clean up this room I'm sitting in, for it surely needs it.
Many old books, I should throw out, or give away, as I'll probably never read many of them, and someone else might get some good out of them. So, I'll just say" cherio for the present"
