Good Friday, March 21, 2008

Good evening, its 10:15 on Friday night. I was going to post a picture taken in Germany 3 years ago, but couldn't get the picture to come up right away, may try again before I close.

The picture was taken on a mountain side just outside of Oberammergau, where we had stayed for 3 nights. Each morning, Chris would go out and hike around the countryside. He had discovered this beautiful marble Cross and statue on the hillside, and we traveled to it before leaving for our next destination, Triberg. If the picture comes through, you will find all three of my children, two of their spouses and 4 of our 7 grandchildren. Two boys were in Portland and Grace wasn't born yet.

I am thankful that each of us in the picture know the meaning of the Cross and what Jesus did for us in dying on the cross. We are most thankful that the grave could not contain Him, and he arose and lives for each one of us, who know him as Saviour and friend.

I hope you will have a Blessed Easter, and if you don't know Him, why not email me and let me know, I'll help you find him.

Well, some good news came to me last week, via the internet of course, it was a copy of a 1870 New York City census showing that my Great, great, great grandfather Thomas Stephenson and wife Mary were botn in Ireland. Now then, that makes me half German( I'm very proud of that fact) and about 1/3 Irish, the other genes come from Scotland, and maybe Holland. I'm still working on that. So, here's to the Irish and the Germans and the Scots & the others.
