Sunday morning, 6:45 a.m.

About a hour ago, I typed up a blog, and lost it. will try and do better with this new entry.
This is a picture of 4 year old Grace as she was learning to sew at grandma's table on Thursday. For those of you new to my blog, she was abandoned at a Chinese police station when she was 1 day old. Chris & Julie adopted her about 3 years ago and she is a joy to our hearts. She has two brothers, Karl and Ryan, both Korean boys adopted as babies.
We picked Grace up at the CityTeam Mission parking lot, where her mom Julie is director of the ministry there for homeless people. They do a great work, in not only feeding them food, but in helping men and women get off the street and into a relationship with our Lord. Once off drugs or alcohol and their lives turned around they become useful citizens again.
Well, as we were leaving the parking lot, I turned left instead of right as Donna thought I should. I wanted to go by Portland Music to pick up some harmonica's, which I buy and then give away to anyone who wants to learn to play. Donna wanted to go to Arvey paper, and so we sort of argued as to where I was going. Grace pops up and says "Are you two arguing?" of course we weren't, just sorting out where I was going.
Later on as she and grandma sat in the Portland Music lot waiting for me to order some, she said to grandma, "What were you and grandpa arguing about?" and of course grandma explained we had a mis-understanding about who was doing what, etc. Pretty astute isn't she?
Forgot that part of my Saturday was also washing the bay window where Donna displays the bears, right now they are reading a book, looks like it could be "back to school days". I also got the big picture window cleaned, inside and out. The world looks better now.
Well, I'm not doing something right this morning, right about here was supposed to be a family picture taken at the Stephenson family picnic back in Iowa on Sept 5th.
I'll try again and see if anything magically appears.
My computer is now getting old, and it takes longer to download pictures that on the newer computers, and I also use dial up, rather than hi speed internet, I think I have all the time in the world, but maybe I don't.
Its now almost 7:15 so am signing off. have 3 cats to feed.....
hls
nuts, may have lost a hour of posting, but getting too anxious for some pictures to download. will wait and see.

Saturday, September 25, 2010
Well, yes its been a month almost since I last posted a blog. Sort of got myself busy on facebook, which I must confess I don't fully understand yet.

Been busy doing other stuff too you know. Today for example, Donna was at a missions convention in Vancouver, and last night I was house sitting my 3 grandchildren out in East side of town. Came home, took a nap till 9:00, Donna was gone by then, hopped up, started a batch of washing, took 4 loads to do all the duds today. Found time to vacuum twice the carpets in the living, dining & bedrooms, once with a vacuum that doesn't get against the walls, and after taping up the hose to the old Sears vacuum, went around the walls and got lots of dust mites.

Lets see, fed the neighbors cat, Harley. He loves to eat, and tonight I couldn't remember if I had fed him earlier or not, so fed him anyway. He was ready for the food. Also fed a neighbor's two cats across the street, Babaloo and Dexter. Both are nice cats and love their food.

Trimmed off some branches of a neighbors tree that hang over the property line and shade my room too much, so, WHACK, off they went. Went to Freddy's to get some copier ink, only they were out of the black stuff, so will try Staples tomorrow, hard to print without ink. Went by Wendy's for a burger, and it was the driest thing I have eaten in months, nothing on it but meat, a California slice of tomato, and some Mexico lettuce. They must have forgotten to put on the slimy stuff that makes it go down easier. Also got some energy bars, not too many calories and they are not guaranteed to make me go any faster.

After Donna came home and I caught up on her news, and she mine, we went to Shari's for a early dinner, and now its football time. I just checked and found my beloved University of Portland Lady Pilots dropped its first Soccer match today 2-1 to Stanford. We'll come back come next Friday the 1st of October. They are so exciting to watch.

And that brings me up to now, Oregon is leading Arizona State, and its or was halftime, so I will sign off. Let me know if you want any more of this exciting news, okay?
