Well, look at what time it is, end of November and I've been very slow at putting on news to you faithful readers. One of the problems, is I can't usually remember my code name to get on this blog. Found another way to get here tonight, so here's whats news. hope

Call from Iowa last night told me that the corn crop on my folks old farm is in, so tonight we had Oyster Soup for dinner. A tradition that has been around as long as I can remember. I suppose during the WW II war years we may not have had them, but otherwise, every year when the last ear was picked, we had oyster stew.....hmmmmm We love them

Its Tuesday night the 28th, and going to get cold tonight, down to 27 degrees the weatherman says, and I believe him. Put a towel around the hose bibb outside my back porch, so the faucet doesn't freeze. Can't have that you know.

My phone call brought bad news, that one of my old friends, Roberta Hite Simmons had died this last few days, also Ronnie Nielson. Ronnie was one of Betty's classmates, and Roberta was the sister to my best friend Harlan Hite. I went out with her a couple of times, nothing serious, as it was on most dates back then when I was in high school. She was a terrific gal, and a wonder ful mom I'm sure. My thoughts goes out to Bill her husband and their kids at this time.

Had a wonderful thanksgiving here at our house. Stephen had to work that day, so we had a late, 6 o'clock dinner, made it kind of nice to have the afternoon to watch football and basketball, and then to have the kids over for a very good meal. Won't bore you with a lot of news tonight, I'm already over 10 hours of e-mail time, so may have to go to unlimited usage, if I keep up the pace I'm now on. Started out with 3 hours for $4.95, now I'm up to 10 hours at $14.95, and my last month bill was nearly $30.00, so might as well go unlimited for $24.95 and get it over with.
Will send you a picture one of these days, but not tonight. So, will say cherrio.

Monday morning,
Sorry to be so slow in posting, but I couldn't get into my website. Maybe I made it too complicated when I first set this up. Anyway, see it was back on the 29th of October, that I last added to this. Halloween has come and gone, we had about 55 trick or treaters come to our door. Of that number, none was from our block on Foss nor on the block to the East on Hurst streets. That is sad, although there aren't too many kids of that age, which means that these are from a distance, or drive in kids. See a lot of cars drive by at the same time, so think they load up the kids till they see a house light on, and then let them out to collect.
After I had turned off the house lights, I heard these little voices saying, trick or treat, trick or treat several times. I could tell they were small children, so opened the door to some adorable little faces, and I was glad to share the last of my candies with them. After that, no one else came to the door.
Monday night was CityTeam ministry night, and Sandra and I were privileged to have Pastor Mark come and share both spoken word, and a trombone solo. The men so enjoy instrumental music, so may try and expand that ministry next time we go down to the mission.
Am hoping to hear from Chris and Julie and boys today, they have been back in Iowa to attend Julie's moms wedding. She married a farmer from Indiana "DON", whom she met on a missions work trip a couple of years ago. I think they will be very happy together.
As most of you know who live around here, we are in a rainy season. BUT thats OKAY with me, for without the rain, we wouldn't have the beauty of the trees and all the other beautiful things God has give us. The lakes and rivers, etc, etc. I take whatever weather God gives, with a thankful heart.
Wonder if I shouldn't sign off for now. would love to enclude a few pictures, but I somehow lose them in trying to transfer them to this blog. Partly, I don't have the patience to wait for the transfer to take place. So, will sign off for now. Cherio!
