And a Happy New Year to all my readers.

On my last blog, I more or less indicated that it would or could be the last blog, and then I heard from a friend in Germany that he checks our blog regularly, so maybe I'll just continue for now. I do know that I check his weekly as he usually posts each Sunday.

The blog this week showed pictures taken at Heidelberg where they visited over their Christmas break. I know the layout of Heidelberg as Donna and I have been through it twice, the last time was our family vacation in 2005. To say I Love Germany is a understatement. I truly love Germany and its people.

To think that both the Schmickle's and the Notbohm's came from Germany in the 1828 & 1874's tells you that I have family links there. We have stayed at both the Notbohm family home, pictured above, and hope to see where the Schmickle's lived when we come to Germany this June. The Stephenson's and Strawn's (my father's side of the family) seem to have come from Scotland. I know that the Strawn's were from the Edinburg area and so far I haven't determined where the Stephenson's lived before coming to America. Census records say they came from Ireland, but that's sort of iffy.

Something tells me I may have lost the image that I was trying to bring forward, will try it again before the end of this blog.
