Wednesday the 9th
Nice day today, went up to the glass company where I used to work, scrapped out a couple windows. Came home and worked on some puzzles which I took a digital photo of when I was back in Iowa. Have 4 of them completed, now if I can just get the dots to line up. Think I will make some more, but will sharpen my techniques first. I apparently guessed where 60 degrees would be on the game board, and am off just a smidge, and the wheels hit each other, SO back to the drawing boards so they say.
I followed the completion by mowing the back yard, some of the quack grass was getting to loud and needed knocked down. If I waited another week, the Oregon Duc ks would have been camped out to use the grass.
Needing something to finish my morning, I went next door to Laura's and finished taking the lathe off her bedroom door. The building inspector came yesterday to inspect what had been done and couldn't get in. I could have let him in, but I didn't think it was ready so hid out till he had left, and then in talking to Laura later found out she wanted him in. Will help him in Friday when he comes back again.
A quick shower after I had finished the project, and some lunch, and then snooze time till about 3:00 when the phone rang and a Shopsmith customer needed some help, so I jumped up and got to the shop to clean up a bit before he arrived. Fixed his machine and sent him on his way in a little less than a hour. Sure enjoy working on them, and his needed help bad.
Had a nice e-mail from Carrie my great neice, who had tracked down a old trunk that came to AMerica when my grandfather arrived here in 1874. His name is Schmickle and if any one who reads this knows about his sister Christina Schmickle Lahyer, please let me know. I know I have pictures of her around here somewhere, and will see if I can send them to Carrie to include in her Family album.
Will keep this short, want to e-mail my friend Liz in Russia and see if she has made it back to Moscow yet. She had to leave the country so she could get her Visa renewed, and the last I heard she was in Hungary ( i think). So, will say cherio for the present.
